Breastfeeding facts

Breast milk has everything that babies need to grow up strong and healthy. It is easy to digest, prevents allergies, and helps keep a baby from getting sick.

Breastfeeding creates a strong bond between mother and child; reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer; delays the return of menstrual periods and may aid in spacing pregnancies; increases mother’s self-esteem.; saves the family money as compared to the cost of formula ; saves on healthcare costs; creates a healthier society and contributes to a more productive workforce.

Immunization facts

Before Vaccines, every year in the U.S.:

  • Polio would paralyze 10,000 children
  • Rubella caused birth defects in 20,000 children
  • Measles Infected 3 million children
  • Diphtheria was one of the most common

Since Vaccines, every year in the U.S.:

  • Polio paralyzes 0 children
  • Rubella causes birth defects in 3 children
  • Measles infected 80-100 children
  • Diphtheria causes disease in 2 children
